How do I tell if a toad is blind?

I think my dog bit a toad in the eyes, and they’re kinda purple, how do I tell if it’s blinded now? I live in Mid-Michigan, if that helps.

Hold the toad up to a bright light and see if it moves to avoid it. That will tell whether it is totally blind or not.
Next, act like you’re trying to poke it in the eyes (Don’t really do it.) If it tries to avoid poking, it will show that it can see movement of objects.

If it fails these tests, it is safe to assume its eyes are damaged and should be kept as a pet, in a safe place.

The toad isn’t blind, he’s just ignoring you!

take the toad to an eye doctor for an eye chart exam. if he can read it he is okay. if not he is blind.
