I go on world 1-1 and I end on either 44, 55, 66, or 77 and the red toad houses still won’t show up!! Is this because I have to help a toad that’s in a ? mark box? Idk what is happening! Please help me, and if you don’t know the answer please don’t say anything. Thanks!
IN SINGLE PLAYER MODE
You have to carry the lost Toad to the end flagpole.
The thing you mentioned – jump on while the time is in double digits – only works in Multiplayer mode.

However, it’s simple to just grab another controller and put him in a bubble (using (A) on sideways controller or (C) on Wii remote + nunchuk) and have the other player float along while you use the other controller and go to the finish with double digited time.
you need to complate all of the courses they have set for you. then open the boxes and bump into the mushroom guy. He will have this mission in which you have to get all oif this little stuff and kill a whole load of mushrooms. When you finish it it will unlock three mushrooms that you get. Then the red houses will be open

You get the Red Toad House by going back to levels you have completed that show Toad’s crying face in a bubble over them. You have to find him within the level and then complete the level while carrying him.
Those random encounters that the above poster mentioned nets you mushrooms that you can access before going in to a level.
