What type of frog is used to make frog legs in chinese dishes?

Someone I know saved a frog from being eaten at a chinese restaurant. Now, we need to know what kind of frog it is so he can take better care of it.

its usually a bullfrog.

    That is very nice of you. From common sense i would guess it is a bullfrog, but do not be 100% certain of my answer! Hope this helps! :)

    Well in france they use edible frogs but im not that sure about china, maybe a bull-frog?
