Conversely, what are the bones in the human body that are absent from the frog? Plus points the more you name and the more Latin they are.
Well reptiles have a jaw full of ear bones and mammals have an ear full of jaw bones
This is just speaking about the jaw - but obviously we also don’t have a urostyle, and the lower leg bones are named differently - calcanium and talus vs. tibia and fibula.
Most of the bones in the frog skull have transitioned into different bones in the human skull. We don’t have a quadratojugal, frogs do. Our lower jaw is considered a dentary, because of.. tada, dentition. Volmer teeth are present in SOME amphibians, mudpuppies are usually used as a good example, but this hardly qualifies as dentition.
Our dentary bone articulates with the squamosal bone, as opposed to most reptiles who have quadrate/articular articulation.
Mammals have malleus, incus and stapes as their middle ear bones, whereas most reptiles and amphibians only have a stapes.
The reptilian quadrate bone = our Incus.
And the reptilian articular bone = our Malleus.
I have a white’s tree frog his name is Jerry and the first day i got him ( Friday ) he ate 1 cricket…….And now today ( Saturday ) he didn’t eat any, is that normal or not? Is he too stuffed?
Hey! Oh i forgot to tell you that I got 2 white’s tree frogs and the one eats a lot and like i said, my other one won’t eat a lot so if DVeeK could tell me more that would be great!
So… you got a Whites like I recommended.
You won’t regret it.
baby whites should eat one cricket in morning and one in afternoon.
adults should eat 3-4 every other day but will eat until their gut splits down the middle.
Also adults can eat a pinky but after that they should not be fed for 4 days
Also remember that variety is the spice of life.
You can also buy meal worms silk worms super worms wax worms earth worms and phoenix worms or u can even try roaches
However phoenix worms and silk worms are the only ones that should be fed as staple diet but are quite expensive so you should probably stick to crickets or roaches.
Other worms should not be fed in excess and should be used as treats
Just wondering? Can a leopard frog or a tree frog live with a chorus frog? Im just wondering cuz he seems lonely.
you can keep land hermit crabs, red claw crabs, fiddler crabs, newts, and salamanders
Three times already a small frog has come out of our toilet. Once my husband saw it, another time it was on the rim of the toilet seat, and the last time it was already on the floor of the bathroom. How is that possible, and what can we do to prevent it from happening again. Please HELP!
You should uncover your sewer lines and check for any cracks that may be there. Replace any ones that you find. Catch the frog if you can and put him away from your home.
I’m really confused about where exactly I should place my money frog in my cubical. Some say I should place it directly in line of my door so when people come in, it’ll be right there. Others say I should place it diagnally from the door, others say place it under my desk..anyone know?
i have been studying fengshui on and off as a hobby, and i dont really believe in the statues. because they really work, then we are all millionaires now.
but i have read somewhere that you put money frogs at the farthest diagonal corner to the door, better if it is inside the cabinet facing away from the door because you want the money to come in.
scratching cat is placed near the door/ window, facing outside, because you want them to "scratch" the customers for money to come in.
a metal dragon, left side of the door, facing the door, with you sitting inside the room facing the door. this invites helpful people.
2 (a male and a female) metal qiling (lion-dragon creature) at the right of the door, facing the door, with you sitting inside the room facing the door. this keeps bad people and misfortunes away. the 2 must form a "V" as if to "kiss" each other.
a metal tortoise-dragon creature at the middle of the wall, opposite the door, also facing the door. this gives you support.
The frog is very noisey and ‘tocks’ all night, keeping me awake. I have tried catching it, but it’s very fast and dives to the bottom of the pond. If I empty the pond, it will just come back. Are there any fish that would encourage the frog to leave home? How can I trap it and relocate it?
when it gets cold, the frog will get very sluggish and go to the bottom of the pond. If you can find him without freezing to death, he can be removed and taken to a better place.

In this story, there is a princess who drops her ball in a well or something and a frog comes along and retrieves it for her. In return, the princess gurantees him that she will accept his company and that ( I THINK ) they should be in love together (requested by the frog). Forgetfully, the princess sits in the castle and the frog comes to stay and claim his love for her or something, she thinks he’s ugly and gross. Then, when he comes later and begs for a kiss, he turns into a prince and they get married and such.
What is this story called and am I recalling it correctly?
"The Frog Prince"
LOL, I’m not joking!!! But yea I love that story =)
what happens is like you said: she looses her ball, and he says he’ll go get it for her if she will have a date with him and a kiss. Then she blows him off and doesn’t come when she is supposed to. Then her dad (I believe the king) finds out that she went back on her word, and makes her give the frog a kiss. And when she does he turns into a Prince. =) Because as it turns out a Witch had cursed him to be a frog, and the only way to break the spell was to be kissed by a princess.
The morals of the story being 1) you should always keep your word and 2) don’t judge a book by it’s cover

I have only had him a week. I have tried blood worms, frog bites, reptile food, caught bugs. Sometimes he puts the food in his mouth and he spits it back out. He just sits there, and swims occasionally. Any help will be appreciated. I am afraid he will starve if he doesn’t eat.
Is it true that frogs can go on a fast and not eat for a while?
If so how long?
If you just got him then he is getting used to his surroundings. Just put food in twice a day and leave it overnight with a verity of foods. He will eventually eat, and then you can also see what he likes by what he eats and does not!
