I have a leopard frog tadpole and was wondering what size aquarium he needs and what type of decor and rocks do they like? I have read that as adults if hey are bored they will drown there selves, is that true? If you know of any websites or have any tips please let me know. Also how often should i feed it as a tadpole and frog? what should he be eating? i gave him some boiled lettuce last night.
Here are a few sites. I like the first one the most.
What type/size aquarium does my leopard frog need to be comfortable and not drown his self?
Why is my African Dwarf Frog laying upsidedown on the bottom of my tank?
I got a dwarf frog some weeks ago. I have been feeding it bloodworms. But today its been laying on its back. When i touched it with the net to see if it was dead it moved and swam away upside-down. Its been doing this all day. Why is this?
i might die soon, or its hibernating, or maybe it just sleepin
What kind of frog is it in my yard, and how do I get it to be quiet?
I live in Petaluma, California, and about a week ago, a frog seems to have moved into my rain-filed kiddie pool. Does anyone know what kind of frog this might be, how long he’ll be here, and if he ever plans on being quiet? Please do not write me anything about killing frogs, as I volunteer for the Humane Society and am also a vegetarian.
Will he eventually leave when he can’t find a mate?
empty the pool. or step on it.
Why is the cricket frog important to humans? What will happen if they become exinct? How can we help?
Why is the cricket frog important to humans? What will happen if they become exinct? How can we as humans help save the cricket frog?
The endangered species act does not allow us to determine whether a species is beneficial to humans or not before the act can be used to save a species from extinction. Of course, if mosquitoes become endangered, then our lawmakers may make an exception.
What is the best type of tree frog to keep as a pet, and how much would it cost?
I really want a pair of either red-eyed tree frogs or poison dart tree frogs. Does anybody know which would make a better pet, which would cost less, or if another type of tree frog would be a better choice?
Poison Dart frogs aren’t really the best frog for a beginner. Red-eyed tree frogs are good, but they cost about £50/$40 but they are very cool. Green Tree frogs (European and American) are easy frogs to look after, and quite cheap (£10/$8). Also Grey Tree frogs are good, and are around the same amount of money as Green tree frogs. However, tree frogs don’t tend to do much during the day, at night they are very fun to watch though.
What is a frog called when it still has gills?
Yeah, what is a frog called when it still has gills?
No Stupid answers please.
As long as it has gills and tail, the term tadpole will be applied. Only after metamorphosis, when the tail is resorbed and the gills are replaced by lungs do we call frog.
If the frog has become adult and developed gonads, retaining the gills, then it will be called a neotenous frog.
How do you tell if a frog is poisonous or not?
My friends and I were in my backyard when my Mom saw a bright green frog. It wasn’t a toad. We thought it might have been a tree frog cause of the body. Though it doesn’t have red eyes and the feet colors too. We want to keep it but we don’t know if it might be poisonous,We put it in my bug catcher and we came back and it changed to dull green with black spots. But the pupils are still brown. Is it poisonous or not?
Most poisonous frogs are very brightly colored so usually the tropical frogs are poisonous but if it is in your backyard i highly doubt it is poisonous unless you live in the tropics. if it turns out to be poisonous just wash your hands like you would if you touched any kind of frog.
for more information about poisonous frogs you can browse the below website..

How can i tell if the frog in my fishtank is pregnant?
ive got 2 of those little frogs that go in your fish tank with the fish.. the female frog seems to be looking fat. how can i tell if she is pregnant? or is something wrong with her?
websites with pictures would help big time, or someone with experience on these little froggies:)
The reason i want to know is so that i can seperate her from the fish before she lays the eggs, so atleast the eggs have somewhat of a chance.
http://allaboutfrogs.org/info/doctor/bloat1.jpg if it looks like this it had dropsy. But other wise it would lay eggs.
How does a frog know when it is ready to lay eggs?
Because the fertilization of frog eggs are exterior and it only occurs after the laying of the eggs, how does little miss froggy know when it is time to leave her home and lay eggs? What is the process before she lays the eggs?
Like many animals, increasing day length triggers the sex hormones into action. This is advantageous since frogs mate around March/April so that the young hatch well into Spring, when food for the young tadpoles is abundant.
What particular bones in the skeletal system of the frog are absent from the human body?
Conversely, what are the bones in the human body that are absent from the frog? Plus points the more you name and the more Latin they are.
Well reptiles have a jaw full of ear bones and mammals have an ear full of jaw bones ![]()
This is just speaking about the jaw - but obviously we also don’t have a urostyle, and the lower leg bones are named differently - calcanium and talus vs. tibia and fibula.
Most of the bones in the frog skull have transitioned into different bones in the human skull. We don’t have a quadratojugal, frogs do. Our lower jaw is considered a dentary, because of.. tada, dentition. Volmer teeth are present in SOME amphibians, mudpuppies are usually used as a good example, but this hardly qualifies as dentition.
Our dentary bone articulates with the squamosal bone, as opposed to most reptiles who have quadrate/articular articulation.
Mammals have malleus, incus and stapes as their middle ear bones, whereas most reptiles and amphibians only have a stapes.
The reptilian quadrate bone = our Incus.
And the reptilian articular bone = our Malleus.
